Kitsilano

WHERE THE CITY MEETS THE SHORE

KITSILANO

Welcome to Vancouver’s most beloved coastal escape.

Kitsilano isn't just a neighborhood; it’s a lifestyle defined by the rhythm of the tides and the energy of the mountains. For 13 years, we have curated a collection of homes here that allow you to live like a local, whether that means a sunrise walk on the Seawall, a dip in the iconic Kits Pool (now with extended weekend hours for the 2026 season!), or a sunset dinner overlooking the bay.

Explore our neighborhood guide below to discover why Kits is the heart of Vancouver’s summer and find the perfect home base for your West Coast story.

A Perfect Day in Kitsilano

09:00 AM | The Local Start

Kick off your morning like a true "Kits" resident. Grab a Matcha Latte and a fresh-baked croissant from Kits Beach Coffee on Cornwall—it’s the perfect spot to watch the morning joggers. Feeling hungrier? Head to Jam Cafe on 4th for their famous Egg Benedicts (pro tip: get there early to beat the line!).

11:00 AM | The Scenic Route Walk the Seawall toward Vanier Park. Take in the views of the city skyline and the mountains while passing the Museum of Vancouver and the HR MacMillan Space Centre. If you’re feeling ambitious, keep wandering—the path leads directly into the artisan heart of Granville Island.

01:30 PM | Saltwater & Sand. It’s time for the beach. Enjoy a picnic on the logs at Kitsilano Beach or head over for a swim at the iconic Kitsilano Pool. In April, the air is crisp, but the views across English Bay are unmatched.

04:00 PM | Iconic Shopping Stroll up to West 4th Avenue, the birthplace of the "athleisure" movement. Visit the Lululemon Flagship Store (where it all began!) or gear up for your next hike at Arc'teryx. The boutique shopping here is some of the best in the city.

07:00 PM | A Taste of the West Coast End your day with a world-class meal. Choose Oddfish on West 1st for incredibly fresh, seasonal seafood in a buzzing, casual atmosphere. If you’re looking for something truly special, book a table at AnnaLena—consistently ranked in Canada’s Top 10 and a proud holder of a Michelin Star.

Why Choose Kitsilano?

  • The Active Soul: If your ideal morning involves a seawall jog, a yoga class at a local studio, or a few laps in North America’s longest saltwater pool, you are home.

  • The Culinary Explorer: From the "No Frills" perfection of Kits Beach Coffee to the Michelin-starred artistry of AnnaLena, your palate will never be bored.

  • Families & Multi-Generational Travelers: With the massive beach playground, the Space Centre, and the calm, grassy picnic areas of Vanier Park, Kits is the city’s most 'stress-free' zone for kids.

  • Remote Professionals: Swap the grey office for the green parks. Kitsilano offers a quiet, inspiring environment with the city's best "laptop-friendly" cafes just a stroll away.

  • For Adventure Seekers: Kayaking and Paddleboard rentals right on the beach.

  • Proximity: 10 minutes to Downtown / 15 minutes to UBC / 25 minutes to YVR Airport.

  • Walkability Score: 95/100. Most guests park their cars on day one and don't touch them again until they leave.

  • The "Secret" Access: Use the False Creek Ferry (a 2-minute walk from the Maritime Museum) to skip the traffic and sail over to Granville Island or Yaletown in style.

FAQ

  • How do I get to Downtown?

It’s a 10-minute drive or a quick 15-minute bus ride on the #4 or #7. You can also take the False Creek Ferries from the Maritime Museum!

  • How easy is it to get to Downtown or the World Cup events at BC Place?

Kitsilano is incredibly well-connected. You can hop on the #4 or #7 bus on West 4th or Cornwall for a direct 15-minute ride into the city center. For a more scenic commute, walk to the Maritime Museum and take the False Creek Ferry—it’s a 'mini-cruise' that drops you at Yaletown or Granville Island in minutes. If you’re heading to a match at BC Place, the ferry to Plaza of Nations is the most stress-free way to go!"

  • Is Kitsilano a good home base for Vancouver’s main sightseeing attractions?

It’s arguably the best in the city. Kitsilano sits at the center of everything: you are a 10-minute bike ride across the Burrard Bridge to Stanley Park, a 5-minute ferry hop to the artisan markets of Granville Island, and a quick 15-minute drive to the Capilano Suspension Bridge shuttles. You get to enjoy world-class sightseeing by day and retreat to our quiet, tree-lined beach neighborhood by night—away from the downtown noise.

  • When is the Pool open?

Kits Pool typically opens for the season in mid-May. Be sure to check the 2026 reservation schedule!

  • Is there parking?

Most of our Kitsilano homes include designated parking, which is a huge plus in this busy neighborhood. Otherwise, there is always public parking available.

  • Can we rent bikes in Kitsilano?

Absolutely! Kitsilano is one of the most bike-friendly neighborhoods in North America. You have two great options right on our doorstep:

Local Shop Rentals: For a high-quality cruiser, e-bike, or road bike, head to Reckless Shipyards or Kitsilano Cycles on West 4th Avenue. They provide helmets and locks, and it’s a quick 5-minute ride from there to the beach.

Mobi Bike Share: If you just want a quick one-way trip, Vancouver’s Mobi by Rogers bike-share stations are located all over Kitsilano (including right by the Kits Pool and the Maritime Museum). You can unlock them with an app and drop them off at any station in the city—perfect for riding over the bridge to Stanley Park!

Insider Tip: From Kits Beach, follow the Arbutus Greenway for a paved, car-free scenic route through the heart of the city, or take the seaside path all the way to Granville Island in under 10 minutes.

  • Is Kitsilano a safe neighborhood?

Kitsilano is consistently ranked as one of Vancouver’s safest and most desirable residential areas. It is a family-oriented community where you’ll see locals jogging at sunrise and families enjoying the parks well into the evening.

    Why guests feel secure here:

Community Vibe: Unlike the busy high-rise core of Downtown, Kitsilano has a 'small-town' feel where neighbors know each other.

Well-Lit & Active: The main corridors like West 4th, West Broadway, and Cornwall Ave stay active and well-lit with diners and shoppers into the late evening.

13 Years of Local Presence: As your hosts for over a decade, we only manage homes in areas where we would (and do!) walk at night ourselves.

Host Tip: Like any major international city, we always recommend the standard 'common sense' practice of locking your car and not leaving valuables in sight. Our properties feature secure electronic locks with unique codes for every guest, so you never have to worry about lost keys
